Best coffee maker for camping: our favorites for 2022

There is nothing better than waking up and drinking a hot cup of coffee while camping. The first question I always ask is do you have electricity or not? A lot of our readers are camping in RVs or have power while some are off the grid in a tent with zero electrical resources. Either way we have you covered  with electric and non electric coffee makers, luckily  most of our favorites don’t require it anyways, just some hot water and you’re good to go.

Our top picks for coffee makers

To start for all of our friends wanting a great fully electric maker that heats the water and brews the coffee we have our tried but true coleman coffee maker.

This camping coffee maker brews up to 10 cups of coffee faster than a traditional system on a camp stove.

The steel base fits on most traditional 2- and 3-burner camp stoves. Included is a glass carafe that easily pours.

The removable filter basket allows for the use of 8- or 12-cup filters, and it includes the Pause ‘N Serve feature, so you can pour a cup before the cycle is complete.

Brew enough coffee for the whole crew when you pack this rust-resistant Coleman 12 Cup Stainless Steel Percolator.

The coffee pot is made of stainless steel, so it is light yet durable.

The percolator has a side handle, which makes pouring simple. When you’re done, clean-up is easy — simply wipe down the outside.

Percolators always make a great choice and kept us caffeinated for years so we had to include this coleman version. Its simple, light and works every time.

The only drawback to percolators is nailing down the technique. If you’ve used them before great, if not we suggest looking up a few videos before using to not mess up your coffee or choose one of the easier options above

How it performs

If you like coffee percolators this coffee maker won’t be a surprise to you.

Percolators while camping hold a special place in our heart so we think this is a great choice especially holding 12 cups.

Highlights:

  • Stainless steel to prevent corrosion
  • Easy to clean
  • Classic style and design
  • Can be finicky if new to percolators
  • Large 12 cup capacity which is great for larger camp site

This amazing stainless steel carafe holds 10 cups and keeps coffee warmer for longer than a regular glass carafe.

Ideal for everyday use in the home, office, or college dorm, this product is incredibly heavy duty, with a plastic filter cone and lid that are BPA free.

Easily top rack dishwasher safe, the carafe includes a brewing cone, a plastic top for protecting against splashes, and a starter supply of Melitta #4 cone filters.

We think this is a great option when you need the pot size of a normal coffee maker that you’d have in your home. The 10 cup designed should be big enough for the whole family or the coffee addict in your camp.

How it performs

Pour overs like the Melitta coffee maker will make some of the best coffee you can get hands down.

The trick is to make sure to have the correct filters like these.

Even when not camping we like to use this coffee maker.

Conclusions

We hope you’ve enjoyed our favorite coffee makers when we’re camping, each one is great but some are more beginner friendly than others or might seem more familiar. Whichever you choose you won’t be disappointed.

Happy Camping 🙂
